Mark Gadd
Deputy Head of Transportation
Mark Gadd is Deputy Head of Transportation. He is responsible for helping manage the In-House Underwriting team to write Commercial Auto Physical Damage and Motor Truck Cargo risks on behalf of Great Lakes.
Mark joined Bell and Clements in April 2019 and prior to that, was underwriting transportation classes, commercial property and personal lines business, both at individual and portfolio level, at a leading Lloyd’s syndicate. In addition, Mark has spent over 20 years broking various classes of Excess and Surplus Lines business into the London market.
He holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of London and an MA degree from the London Metropolitan University.

Mike Kyriacou
Chief Underwriting Officer - Statutory and Executive Board
Mike Kyriacou is Chief Underwriting Officer and has overall responsibility for the company's day-to-day underwriting as well as its managed underwriting functions.
Mike joined Bell & Clements in 2002 having previously worked in the Lloyd's market for over 25 years as an underwriter for a number of Lloyd's syndicates. He spent his first two years at Bell & Clements in the US helping to establish the Bell & Clements Inc. office in Reston, VA, and assisting the company develop its underwriting management capabilities.
Mike was heavily involved in establishing the business relationship with Bell & Clements’ customers and American Modern Insurance Group, and was instrumental in the roll out of the Great Lakes facility.

Kate Ash
Associate Director of Underwriting
Kate Ash is an Associate Director of underwriting. She is responsible for the underwriting and day to day management of our Forced Placed, REO and Investor Owned Property business.
Kate joined Bell & Clements in 2000 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2006. She was then responsible until March 2018 for the underwriting and management of the In-House Property team.
She has held underwriting authority for both certain Lloyd's syndicates and Great Lakes. Prior to joining Bell & Clements, she worked for a Lloyd's broker for 11 years, where she specialized in the placement and management of US and Canadian delegated authorities.
She completed the ACII in 2000, the ASLI in 2006 and is a Member of the CII.

Mark Godfrey
Senior Binding Authority Executive
Mark Godfrey is a senior member of the Managed Underwriting department. He has a wealth of experience as both a Lloyd's Underwriter and a broker, providing Bell & Clements with an invaluable link between its underwriting and brokerage capabilities.
Mark joined Bell & Clements in 2014, having previously worked for over 30 years in the Lloyd's market, predominantly underwriting non-marine short-tail business at Lloyd's and including positions with two Lloyd's brokers.
During his time in Lloyd's he has sat on various NMA Committees and has been a Director of a Lloyd's Managing Agency. He qualified as an ACII in 1996.

Dawn Harding
Chief Broking Officer - Executive Board
Dawn Harding is Chief Broking Officer and has over 30 years’ Lloyd’s binding authority experience. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lloyd’s US Binding Authority department and was appointed as a Director of the Bell & Clements Board in 2013.
Dawn joined Bell & Clements in 1989, having previously worked for another Lloyd’s broker handling the production and placement of Canadian binding authorities.

Dipika Powell
Associate Director of Broking
Dipika Powell is an Associate Director in the US Binding Authority team and is responsible for the day to day management of Lloyd's contracts. In addition to broking binding authorities, Dipika also underwrites and places individual risks.
Dipika joined Bell & Clements as a Junior Broker in 2002 after graduating from university. In 2004, Dipika was involved in the set-up of the Bell & Clements High Value Home program. She successfully continued to grow this facility until 2013, when she was appointed a Senior Broker and became an Associate Director in November 2014.
Whilst Dipika continues to oversee the high value homeowner business, her primary role is the negotiation and broking of new and renewal binding authorities with Lloyd's underwriters and customers.
During her time at Bell & Clements, Dipika has completed her ACII. She also holds an Honours degree in International Business.

Dawn Lowry
Senior Broker
Dawn Lowry joined Bell & Clements’ Lloyd’s and London Market Binding Authority team as a Senior Broker in 2014 and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing North American agents’ portfolios in the Lloyd’s and London Market. She acts as a company representative at major industry events, including NAPSLO and AAMGA.
With a 30 year career spanning both the Lloyd’s and London Market, Dawn has a wealth of experience having worked for both leading brokers and underwriters. She joined the insurance profession as an Underwriting Assistant.

Nick Paine
Senior Underwriting Executive
Nick is the Senior Underwriting Executive overseeing In-House commercial property underwriting facilities at Bell & Clements. He has over 40 years experience as a broker and underwriter in the London company market and Lloyd’s and rejoined Bell & Clements in 2017. For most of the last 20 years Nick has underwritten on behalf of numerous Lloyd’s Syndicates via Lloyd’s brokers in-house facilities and MGA’s.

Daniel Gray
Senior Underwriter
Daniel Gray is a Senior Underwriter in the In-House Underwriting team and is responsible for underwriting property business on behalf of selected Lloyd's syndicates and Great Lakes through delegated authorities.
Daniel joined Bell & Clements in 2002 working for the Transportation team, before moving to the Property team in 2010. Previously, he worked for a UK household insurer.
He is an active participant in the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) Under Forty Organization.

Julian Pryke
Head of Transportation
Julian joined B&C in October 2018.
Julian has 35 years of insurance experience including working as an Underwriter at a Lloyd's syndicate where he enjoyed various roles over the course of 18 years. Julian also experienced 11 years in Canada as a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter, specialising in Jewellers and Furriers' Block.

Adam Carver

Adam Carver is an Assistant Underwriter/Broker. His focus is high value homeowner contracts, broking the relevant business into Lloyd’s and our in-house facilities. Adam also assists the US Binding Authority team.
Adam joined Bell & Clements in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant in our In-House Property team, and transferred to the US Binding team in 2013 as a Junior Broker. Adam holds a Diploma in Insurance (DipCII).

Luke Wheeler
Chief Claims Officer - Executive Board
Luke Wheeler is Chief Claims Officer and has in excess of 20 years’ claims broking and technical experience. He is responsible for the business’ claims strategy and policies and manages the day-to-day operations of the claims team, which is spread between our UK and US offices.
Luke joined Bell & Clements Limited in 1994 as a Junior Claims Broker/Technician and rose to Department Manager by 2005. Luke was appointed as a Director of the Bell & Clements Board in 2013.

Mark Balcombe
Chief Operating Officer - Executive Board
Mark Balcombe is the Chief Operating Officer, and he has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company.
Mark joined Bell & Clements in 2001 and has project led many of the business’ major IT initiatives, including implementing a broking system and migrating paper files to a document management system. He was appointed an Associate Director in 2007 and joined the Board of Directors in 2019.
Prior to joining Bell & Clements, Mark worked for 17 years in the insurance technology sector for a leading insurance software vendor. Mark’s experience spans all aspects of the insurance technology sector, from programming and technical support through to account and project management. Mark has worked on many international customer accounts and with a number of London Market insurance brokers.

Bharat Mepani
Chief Innovation Officer - Executive Board
Bharat Mepani is the Chief Innovation Officer for Bell & Clements and is responsible for managing the Software Development and Data Analytics teams.
Bharat has been instrumental in designing, enhancing and managing Bell & Clements’ data processing and analytics system, The Bridge. He works closely with customers and their software vendors to obtain validated real-time data via XML and provides in-depth insurance analytics to both internal and external audiences.
He joined Bell & Clements in 2002 as a Software Engineer and was promoted to Development Manager in 2007 and Associate Director in 2011. Bharat joined the Board of Directors in 2019.

Jim Peiffer
