We specialize in providing US Managing General Agents (“MGAs”) with a comprehensive service for surplus lines business. We are acknowledged market leaders in arranging binding authorities for US MGAs and in managing the relationship between the MGA and Insurers.

We also provide, through our Bell & Clements Underwriting Managers division, a capability to quote and bind a wide variety of risks under our own in-house binding authorities.

Managed Underwriting Department

Based in London, the Managed Underwriting (MU) Department currently has a team of 11 employees.

The Role – Underwriting Administrator

Overview

To assist the Administrative Support Manager (Underwriters, Assistant Underwriter) with all administrative tasks for the Managed Underwriting Department.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare figures for meetings and take minutes.
  • Preparing quote/binding sheets for underwriters.
  • Help monitoring aggregates and premium income under GLISE Binding Authorities.
  • Engaging with other Departments when the MU team start to work on a new binding authority.
  • Adhoc requests from Underwriters.
  • Monitoring emails in the MU mailbox
  • Awareness of FCA rules pertinent to this role.

  • Good standard of literacy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines.

  • This position is offered on a permanent basis.
  • Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
